What's New This Year (in the League)?

The Basics

  • What is the Name of the League and What Services Does it Provide?
  • How do I start a team in the league and what are the basics I need to know?
  • Do I need to have a home field? What if I don't have one?

    No, but it helps.

If you don't have your own home field the League may be able to help you find field time on rental fields available to the league.

For its first sixteen years of operation the League was able to find sufficient field time for all required games. Much of this can be attributed to the many members who have always made outstanding efforts to find field time through various schools and parks etc.

However, in recent years, there has been a great influx of teams w/o home fields. This has put a great strain on the league scheduling process. In order to have sufficient fields, some teams are forced to play on their home fields most of the time. This means that teams with home fields are disproportionately playing teams w/o home fields. It is not fair that two 14U Gold teams not play each other simply because both have a home field. In addition, some club members have complained that they are forced to charge a higher registration fee than teams w/o home fields in order to cover their costs of field maintenance costs.

Thus, beginning 2012, teams without a home field for at least 30% of their requested games shall be charged a field use fee.

    Ages 12U & Under - No Fee.
Ages 13U & Up - $200 per team per season.

The proceeds from this surcharge will be returned to the general membership in the form of a subsidy for hosted tournaments.

In addition, if necessary, the number of games a team w/o a home field can have may be limited. Also, to even out expenses for game balls, teams w/o a home field shall supply the home team three new baseballs for each game played.
