How ENYTB Regulates Player Movement Between Teams

    RFA Exemptions:

ENYTB has deemed that RFAs in certain situations shall qualify for RFA exemptions. An exempted player can switch teams w/o affecting his new team's available RFA cap space.

    (i) Franchise Players

This exemption is available to franchise and co-franchise members only.

It is applicable to players residing in the member's franchise area but currently playing for a club with either no territory assignment or with territory that does not include the player’s resident public school district.

In this situation, the player shall be allowed to switch from his current team A to any team B owned by their home area club w/o counting against ANY of team B's RFA caps.

NOTE: Since an RFA with an exemption is treated the same as an UFA, he does not count against the overall or H2H RFA CAPS for team B. Thus, he also does not count as an RFA loss for team A. This is true of all players lost via exemptions.

NOTE: A player's home area club is determined by the public school district that he resides in. If a player has more than one home area club e.g., co-franchise, the exemption will apply to either unless the player is moving from one home are club to another, in which case this exemption shall not apply.

Any RFA residing in the franchise area of an ENYTB franchise member but having last played for a different ENYTB club, would not count against any of these caps, if and only if, he is returning to play for a team owned by his home area club.

EXCEPTION: FPE have their own Lifetime H2H Cap = 3.

After the H2H LT CAP = 3 is reached, any additional players meeting the definition of this exemption shall be treated as a regular RFA.

    (ii) EXEMPTION: Elite Players

Any primary player, active on inactive, on the official roster of an ENYTB Elite team and having completed his first season on that team's roster, shall be allowed to move to any other Elite or non-elite team w/o affecting the RFA cap space of the player's new team.

(iii) EXEMPTION: SIBLING CREDIT – N for 1

This exemption shall be applicable to families with two or more players of similar age, all of whom are classified RFA: Primary on any team A. The sibling credit allows all qualifying players from the same family to switch to the same team B (RFA: primary) for one CAP credit. To accomplish this, the team B shall be granted a bonus credit for its CAP1 and CAP2/CAP3 vis a vis team A. (This approach has the added advantage of giving the team A credit for two (or more) RFA losses via the CAP2 summation method.)

Qualification Requirement: To qualify for this exemption, the players must share the same address/primary residence and the team B must notify the league administrator of the situation.
