Program Info > Intro

Thank you for your interest in the ENYTB program and welcome to our league website, powered by RunMyLeague.com (RML). Program Info is one of the many areas of the website available to the public. In fact, all of the content on two of the main menus: Inside-The-League; and, League Info, is available to the public.

From the first pitch of the season to the last, Inside-The-League is ENYTB's online sports page, reporting scores, player stats, a comprehensive game report on every ENYTB game played and all divisional standings. Standings update in real-time as teams enter their scores. Want to go to a game? Inside-The-League identifies all teams by name, age and level of play and provides a day-by-day master schedule of all upcoming games, complete with fields and directions.

Inside-The-League doesn't stop with the regular season. It also provides complete information on all tournaments hosted by ENYTB via RML's newest website add-on, Tournament Manager (TM). Every tournament hosted by ENYTB has its own TM home page that provides easy access to all information on that tournament from pre-tournament info, including announcements, brochures, rules, local hotel/restaurants etc., to tournament entries, brackets, field schedules and results. This information is available for:
  • All sanctioned tournaments hosted by ENYTB (at least one in every age level in 2010); as well as for,
  • All ENYTB sponsored "Open" tournaments e.g., Extra Innings/Last Man Standing (tournaments offered lat three weekends of July for all age divisions).
NOTE: For ENYTB OPEN tournaments, TM provides online registration for both non-members and members. To sign-up, go to TM, click on the tournament you wish to enter, and click the ruby red sign-up button.

During the off-season, the spotlight switches from the league's online sports page to its online library, League Info, the menu you are currently on. As its name would suggest, this menu provides a considerable amount of information about the league: from its history and timeline; to current articles on the league; to our constitution, our playing rules; and to FAQ, a glossary and this section, Program Info. There is enough material here to keep everyone reading until the next season is ready to begin.

Program Info is designed to provide the public at-large, prospective members, new members, and even veteran members, with a soup to nuts presentation of the league. For ease-of-use, Program Info is divided into nine sub-menus, encompassing 29, bite size chunks of information. Suffice to say, Program Info is the best single source for general, and in some instances, in-depth information on ENYTB's many program elements; including:
  • how the regular season and post-season is structured;
  • the when and what of the league's annual cycle;
  • the league's many premium member services including: customized online registration, customized and competitively balanced scheduling, customized online roster management, and much more;
  • the key role of the website in league registration as well as in operations once the season is underway; and,
  • the fees and fee structure associated with membership.
It is strongly recommended that all club and team personnel familiarize themselves with the contents of Program Info and to refer back to it when questions arise. And, any member with unresolved questions is entitled to unlimited technical support from league persons expert in ENYTB's program, league operations and rules as well as the website. Response is often immediate, almost always same day, and never more than 72 hours away.

NOTE: If this is your first time learning about ENYTB and you haven't yet read "About Us". we suggest you do so now by clicking here.

NOTE: Members Only - Main > Getting Started provides greater detail on many of the items introduced in Program Info, in particular, activation, registration, scheduling, rosters and the website. Main > Getting Started presents this information from the separate perspectives of Club Reps and Managers/Coaches.

Intro is the default sub-menu for Program Info. It includes four of the 29 bite sized chunks. They are:
  • League Overview;
  • League Structure;
  • Member Classifications; and,
  • Player Rights.
NOTE: The material in League Overview is repeated in its entirety at About Us > League Overview.

NOTE: Each of the 29 bite size chunks is navigated to in the same manner i.e., with Program Info selected from the League Info menu on the top red menu bar, the lower red menu bar populates with the nine Program Info sub-menus. Choose a sub-menu by clicking on it. Now the dark blue menu bar populates with the menu items available on the selected sub-menu. Choose an item of interest (a bite sized chunk) by clicking on it. (The dark blue menu bar is located immediately below the lower red menu bar.)

NOTE: For those with log-in privileges, there is a Help menu dedicated to the website e.g., for help with website navigation, go here and for website tips, go here. For help with website content/functionality, go here and for help understanding the password management system and website access, go here.

Intro provides a general introduction to the league. The level of detail is sufficient to satisfy the interest of the public at-large. However, prospective members, new members, and veteran members need more detail than is presented in these introductory sections. For them, and others with further interest, there are the other eight Program Info sub-menus listed below (the other 25 bite-sized chunks). As to what material is covered in each of the other eight sub-menus, here's a quick idea:
  • WHAT's NEW - A quick update on any changes from the previous year in such matters of importance as: organizational structure; program scope; program elements, fees; and, policies affecting membership, player protection, etc.;
  • CALENDAR - Each stage of ENYTB's annual activity cycle, is identified here in terms of what and when;
  • COMPETITION LEVELS - This sub-menu describes how teams are classified into competition levels i.e., the league's highly popular Gold-Silver-Bronze classification system, to heighten competition for the better teams and to increase excitement for all teams.
  • SCHEDULING - This sub-menu describes the hallmark of the league, its customized scheduling, as well as the evolution of ENYTB's "competitively-balanced" scheduling process in some detail. Tournament-Qualifying-Games (TQG) are defined and discussed, as are various website tools for finding pick-up games and managing scheduling changes, including a brief discussion of the league's grace period for reschedules prior to the beginning of each season.
  • STANDINGS - This is where it is decided who qualifies for a sanctioned National Chanmpionship Tournament Series (NCTS) and who doesn't. The differences between league divisions that include teams from a single competition level and those that include teams from multiple competition levels is discussed. The Standings methodologies applicable to the various types of league divisions also are discussed in terms of how they affect what games count and how the teams are ultimately ranked, including why strength-of-schedule factors are necessary. Lastly, the process whereby berths in the entry-level tournaments of sanctioned NCTS are earmarked to league divisions is discussed, along with the implications of the use of the different types of league divisions on guaranteeing berths to each competition level.
  • TOURNAMENTS - ENYTB provides members with centralized access to many tournaments, including three sanctioned NCTS: AABC, NABF and PONY; as well as several highly popular league sponsored OPEN tournaments e.g., the Extra Innings/Last Man Standing tournaments (weekend tournaments during the latter half of July). All information is here and here. Want to host a tournament in partnership with ENYTB? The details are here. Want to put your tournament online? A new service, available to members and non-members alike will let you advertise and manage your tournament online, on enytb.com, via Tournament Manager. Click HERE.
