Schedule Changes: The Short Version - A to Z
posted by Administrator 05/29/2012 02:05:36
Schedule Changes: The Short Version - A to ZComprehensive explanations of the various procedures and rules and tools have been provided on numerous occasions, including: in several league-wide emails; on the league news page; in the minutes to several meetings; at those meetings; on your schedule page; and, on the FAQ page. In the hope that the shorter version may reach those that the longer versions have not, here goes one last time.SCHEDULE CHANGES: The Short Version - A to Z(1) Except for item #5 below, the league plays NO role in schedule changes. (The process was automated to eliminate the many he said, she said disputes that tend to arise from schedule changes and waste the time and good will of the League Admin.) (2) WP – Up until game time, only the home team can WP a game on the website. Once the start time has passed, EITHER team can WP the game website up until 7 days after the game. Any WP game not updated to a WP on the website within 7 days of the date of the game shall be automatically reclassified as PASSED games (see item #7 below).(3) *NWP – Team A (requesting team) submits its request via the website, Team B is notified of request by email and submits its reply via the website (approve/disapprove).(4) *NHNFC - Team A (requesting team) submits its request via the website, Team B is notified of request by email and submits its reply via the website (approve/disapprove)* Both (3) and (4) are available for local games only (no car shown on schedule). Also, both (3) and (4) have time limits. These requests are available only until 7 days before the scheduled date of a game. Once inside of 7 days, every game is play as is, or forfeit, unless it qualifies for an AC (see item (5) next). (5) AC (Admin Cancel) - Team A (requesting team) learns that it has a conflict that was unknowable before the schedule was done. (NOTE: There are only four such conflicts that qualify for this type of cancellation.) Team A submits its request via the website, sends a follow-up email with details surrounding request to league Admin, and notifies its opponent of pending possible cancellation. League Admin is notified of request by email and details by separate email from Team A. League Admin approves/disapproves the AC request via the website.(6) Forfeit – When appropriate, can be declared by either team against themselves or their opponent. Any forfeited game that is not declared a forfeit via the website within 7 days of the date of the game shall be automatically reclassified as PASSED games (see item #7 next).(7) PASSED games - Every scheduled game must be updated by EITHER team within 7 days of the date it was played. If not, both teams are fined $75/game. a - If the game was played, EITHER team can enter the score. b - If the game was suspended, EITHER team can enter the details.c - If the game was WP, EITHER team can enter the WP.d - If the game was not played at one team's request but a NHNFC, NWP or AC was not successfully processed via the website, the game is a forfeit for the team that could not play.e - If a game is a forfeit, EITHER team can enter the forfeit for EITHER team. For example, if your forfeited to me I can enter the game as a forfeit for you. If I forfeited the game I can the game as a forfeit for me.In short, there is no excuse for a PASSED game. Both opponents have the ability to update the status of the game regardless of whether the game was played or not and if the game wasn't played, regardless of the reason it wasn't played. In all cases, as soon as the reply is made via the website, all parties are informed of the official resolution of the official request and schedules for both teams are automatically updated accordingly. Follow these procedures and you can't go wrong. Deviate from them at your own peril. For the convenient tabular display of these rules (everyone should print out a copy of these four tables (1 page each)) as well as the unabridged text version, go to your schedule page and click the "expand" button on the FAQ = Schedule Management 101.
