Required Credentials For PONY Tournament Play
Congratulations to all our PONY berth award winners!
DRAFTING - PONY allows unlimited draft picks other ENYTB registered teams also registered with PONY.
To participate in the draft, submit an ordered list of players (name and team name/age) you would like to draft via email to Ed Frye at
fryes@nycap.rr.com. The draft is held the day after the day the berths are officially awarded. So as soon as you accept your berth, send an ordered list of your draft picks to Ed by email. Be clear as to your name, team name/age and the berth you accepted.
ADDITIONAL EMPHASIS: Teams going to PONY tournaments can only draft from other PONY registered teams (same age division) in the league who are not taking a PONY berth. Please contact manager of player's primary team before drafting a player. There are harsh penalties for not doing so.

PONY TOURNAMENT RULES/CONVENTIONS:(1) Teams are allowed only 3 coaches that MUST be in FULL uniform to be able to participate. Team color warm up jackets are permitted for all coaches. (If your coaches don't have full uniforms and can't get them before tournament, contact TD to ask if he is willing to waive this requirement.)
(2) All players MUST have a PONY patch sewn on their right sleeve of their uniform to play in the tournament.
(3) Managers will meet with the Umpire Association 1 hour prior to the start of their first scheduled game to hand in paperwork and go over tournament rules.
(4) A coin toss will determine the home team in every game played.
(5) Games will be played as 7 inning games (11U and older).
(6) Pitchers will be allowed 16 innings total in the tournament. One pitch constitutes an inning pitched. THERE IS A MAXIMUM OF 7 INNINGS PER DAY PER PITCHER IN THE TOURNAMENT CONTRARY TO THE 9 INNINGS
ALLOWED IN THE RULE BOOK (Because games are only 7 innings instead of 9)
NOTE: Verify this rule for you age division with the PONY Rulebook and/or with your TD ahead of time - can vary by age division.)
(7) IF A PITCHER THROWS 1 PITCH INTO THE 5th INNING THAT PITCHER WOULD NEED 40 HOURS REST FROM THE SCHEDULED START TIME OF THAT GAME.
NOTE: Verify this rule for you age division with the PONY Rulebook and/or with your TD ahead of time - can vary by age division.)
(8) Total innings are accumulated in a day (a pitcher can pitch 5 innings at 2pm and then is allowed to pitch 2 more innings at an 8pm game that same day). Then he would need 40 hours rest from the 8pm start time.
(9) DH is allowed for the pitcher only. There is no Extra Hitter and all teams MUST bat 9 hitters. If the pitcher comes out of the game then the team loses the DH.
NOTE: Verify this rule for you age division with the PONY Rulebook and/or with your TD ahead of time - can vary by age division.)
