[ENYTB]League/Website/Schedule Update
posted by Administrator 05/17/2006 01:05:24
Any team owner, manager, coach or contact person reading this message for the first time i.e., did not receive it via email, should inform me by email. We want to ensure that the new integrated email function is sending to all individuals linked to ENYTB teams active in teh 2006 season.--------------------------------------------------------------------Please refrain from emailing me if at all possible. I will issue League-wide updates via email, such as this one, on a regular basis over the next two weeks. I have 30 emails today - when will my schedule be done - when will the roster print function be working? The answer is never if I have I have to keep responding to endless email.-----------------------------------------------------------------------UPDATES 1 thru 8:(1) Scheduling - we are 2 weeks behind - I am still correcting input data on many members. This is a crisis but I don't feel responsible for creating it. The idea of letting members fill out their own team and field availability calendars has been an abysmal failure - a significant percentage of teams never submitted their scheduling data (field, team or both) until very recently and/or entered their info incorrectly. Add that to the many teams who requested changes after the OW schedule was first released and that is why we are running so far behind this year.If you want your full schedules before Memorial Day Weekend, only call or write me if absolutely neccessary!--------------------------------------------------------------(2) All OW schedules are now official and will not change except that a couple of 18U games might be added in the next day or so as we verify field availability.---------------------------------------------------------------(3) Double Registered Teams - The team schedule function has been expanded to include games for both teams in a double register. Remember, the website looks at you as two different teams i.e., two different registrations; two different rosters (different age divisions), two different team availability etc. However, to avoid teams forgetting to check BOTH team schedules, the website now shows all games for both teams on either schedule.--------------------------------------------------------------(4) AABC Roster Print Function - We thought we had it working right yesterday but there was one bug - we think we have it fixed - and we hope to make an official announcement tomorrow.Roster Instructions:The new website function for roster has 8 rosters:(i) ENYTB (no print)(ii) AABC (reg season)(iii) AABC (tournament with drafting)(iv) NABF (reg season)(v) NABF (tournament with drafting)(vi) NABF Classic (I don't think it is there yet.)(vii) PONY (reg season)(viii) PONY (tournament with drafting)All except (i) will have a print function onto the official national form for that sanctioning body.(a) When you enter your players they go into (i).(b) (i) does not have a print function.(c) Teams need to create their regular season roster for AABC, NABF and PONY separately. The website allows you to copy players from your ENYTB roster to the other reg season rosters with a simple check box methodology.(d) once your regular season rosters are created, you must wait until the next morning to print (runs once a day at 4:00am). All sanctioned roster forms have a print function. The AABC roster print function will be working first. AABC is the only roster you need to print out, have signed by player and parent, and turn into to your division coordinator.(e) those teams that win a tournament berth through regular season competition can create their official tournament rosters online, including drafting, after the regular season ends.--------------------------------------------------------------(5) DO THIS NOW - Check your ENYTB roster for duplicate names, players that belong etc. We have been doing some clean up work on players linked to deleted teams etc. and it has cause such things to occur. Simply cut any duplicates and add the player back. Once your ENYTB roster is correct, transfer the players to your AABC roster, and print the next morning. Any player that is cut will be reassigned a new password when he is added back.--------------------------------------------------------------------(6) Use vallid email addresses for all players. W/o a valid email address, players can not obtain their password. Players are emailed their passwords when you add them to your roster. Players who lose that email or claim to never have gotten it can simpley click "forgot my password" on the member log-in screen to have their password emailed to them again.-----------------------------------------------------------------(7) Website Email Function - Some of you were being dropped from the email distibution list in the new integrated website email function. We think we have it fixed but if you know of any team owner, manager or coach NOT getting this email have them email me. (Of course, if they are not registered with the League as an owner, manager, coach or contact OR if they never entered their email address, they will not receive email from us.)-----------------------------------------------------------------(8) Roster Link has been moved one final time! There is a new menu on the top menu bar called Required Info - it replaces the old Registration menu. Everything a team needs to provide the League before getting their schedule and playing a game is available from this menu, including rosters. Most everything you need is one of these three menus:(a) Main ----> Team and Owner Home(b) Required Info ---> All team/owner inputs(c) Tools - All other member only functionsThe menus:(d) Inside The League; and,(e) Tournament Infoare available to the public as well as members and are still located in the same place on the top menu bar. This reorganization of content was in response to complaints from members that they couldn't these things.Everything vailable can be found by starting in one of these five top level menus. Once a top level menu item has been selected (clicked), then your attention shifts to the next lower menu bar for the next set of choices. Similarly, when a 2nd level menu item is selected, either by clicking or placing your cursor on it, your attention should shift to the 3rd and final menu bar for your final set of choices. Not all functions have 3rd level selections. ---------------------------------------------------------------
