You have to be an ENYTB team to qualify but you do NOT have to be a tournament team. Pre-registration is required. Simply email your team name/age to: fryes@nycap.rr.com. There is no charge for this event and there are great prizes. This is the first time we have done something like this and we hope everyone comes out to support it.In addition to the skills competitions outlined below, there also will be an Around-The-Horn Drill where nine players take the field and the ball is thrown in a pattern to each player on the field, proceeding from P to C to 2B to 1B to 3B to LF to SS to CF to 2B to RF to Home. Least time wins.ENYTB Tournament Skills Competition presented by EXTRA INNINGSEach team who has entered the tournament will designate one player for each skill area. The players must be different for each competition. The competition will be split into age divisions. Baserunning 1. Each participant will get timed on how fast they run from home plate to second base. 2. The player must go through the motion of the swing before leaving the batter’s box.3. The time starts when the player starts the swing and ends with the foot touching second base. 4. Lowest time will be declared the winner. Pitching 1. Each participant will be judged on throwing accuracy. 2. Players will be allowed to throw 10 throws into a target with the strike zone.3. The player with the most throws in the target will be declared the winner.4. The highest velocity reading will break ties. Hitting 1. A Homerun Derby will judge hitting.2. There will be two rounds.3. First round each participant will be allowed 10 outs. 4. The top two homerun hitters will advance to the finals. 5. In the final round each player will be allowed 5 outs. 6. A swing and miss or any contact that does not measure to be a homerun makes outs. 7. Players will have their own personal pitcher. Trophies will be awarded to the winner of each skill area in their respective age division. The team with the most points in their respective age division will receive a party at Extra Innings.
