posted by Administrator 06/29/2007 10:06:56
Many of you have the false impression that Extra Play Games do not carry the same obligation to play as your so-called Must Play Games. This is NOT true, as explained in my recent email and on the FAQ board. Extra play games are an important component of the regular season schedule for many teams and should be treated no differently than so-called ... read more
July 1 = Roster Deadline for NABF 14U tournament eligibility
posted by Administrator 06/26/2007 07:06:26
This deadline is applicable to sanctioned rosters only (ENYTB regular season rosters have no deadline for drop/adds).(1) ALL AABC registered teams at ALL Ages 14U and below were locked-down on June 15. Yet, the league is not in possession of a single amended AABC roster from before the season began. NOTE: ALL AMENDED AABC rosters must be resubmitted to ENYTB by Sunday, July 1. Failure to do so will result in loss of eligibility for any players added since your original roster submission.(2) PONY regular season roster deadline is tomorrow, Wednesday, June 27.(3) NABF rosters will be printed off the website on July 2 and submitted to NABF as official and final. These rosters will govern all NABF post-season player eligibility i.e., players NOT on an official roster will NOT be allowed in NABF tournament play. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Get your sanctioned rosters up to date NOW!The NABF 14 tournament begins Thursday, July 12. It will be a 9 team tournament, hosted at NCYBA.BACKGROUND NOTE: Teams may have as many as four different regular season rosters on the website depending on what they registered for, including:(1) League Roster (governs regular season play and player rights from one year to the next).(2) Sanctioned roster - NABF (3) Sanctioned roster - AABC(4) Sanctioned roster - PONY Only rosters (2), (3) and (4) are subject to sanctioning body deadlines. It is each team's responsibility to set each of its sanctioned rosters according to what players it wishes to have eligible for what sanctioned tournaments. Often the same players are listed on all four rosters but this is not always the case for various reasons e.g., minimum age restrictions or differing roster size limits. But you must make ACTUALLY LOOK to be sure each roster is as you want it. REQ INFO > ROSTERS > ENYTB (default)//AABC//NABF//PONY Teams can move players between their league rosters and sanctioned regular seasons rosters until the lock-down date. Ultimately, the sanctioned regular season rosters determine player eligibility for the sanctioned tournaments. When a team wins a sanctioned tournament berth it is activated on the website for post-season play in that sanctioning body. This gives the team a tournament roster in that sanctioning body that it won its berth (these forms are different from the regular season in both NABF and PONY) with complete online drafting capability. Teams are NOT allowed to add its drafted players online until the face-to-face draft is completed unless other instructions are provided. NOTE: Teams may add players to their league rosters for regular season play at any time, provided they provide their league rep with proof of age.13U and 14U teams should get their final NABF rosters in order NOW! With a roster size limit of 21 most of you should be able to include all your league-eligible players to your NABF rosters. EVERY team has an NABF roster. This makes EVERY player NABF draft eligible IF you have included him on your NABF roster.
