HANDOUTS FROM 2/24 MEETING: Topic #3 - ROSTERS & PLAYER ELIGIBILITY CRITERIAl
posted by Administrator 02/24/2013 10:02:03
HANDOUTS FROM 2/24 MEETING (Topic #3):Rosters & Player Eligibility CriteriaENYTB has its own player eligibility criteria for regular season play as does each sanctioning body. Similarly, each sanctioning body has additional eligibility criteria for tournament play. Each sanctioning body also has its own official rosters for collecting these data. ENYTB registers its teams with the various sanctioning bodies via these roster forms. Teams that win NCTS berths need to bring their official tournament roster with them to their tournament. For all the reasons above, needless to say, rosters and player eligibility criteria are enormously important, especially in a multi-sanctioned league such as ENYTB where a team may have as many as 7 or more rosters, no two of which are on the same form or subject to the exact same player eligibility criteria.ENYTB members are fortunate that all the official forms are loaded to the website and that each roster has its own eligibility criteria filter. Teams simply enter the player's data once (unless the player is already in the league database and then not at all). From there, the team needs only to link its players to its other required rosters. During the linking process, the player is tested against all eligibility criteria for that roster. This is referred to as "SMART" rosters. This system is referred to as ORMS: enytb.com's Online Roster Management System. It does almost all of the roster work for you. Teams need only to link players to all their rosters. ORMS takes care of the rest. When the roster is complete, the user simply clicks PRINT and the roster that prints off includes eligible players only and all information is printed on the official roster form of the associated sanctioning body.ORMS also allows tournament teams to view all eligible draft picks within the league and to actually make their draft selections online. The selected player immediately appears on the team's tournament roster with all required information filled in!W/o further adieu, here are the slides for today's presentation: CLICK HERE for an overview of information sources on UFA and RFA as well as many of the differences between the two; CLICK HERE for an overview of ORMS; CLICK HERE for a diagrammatic overview of ORMS; CLICK HERE for an overview of the player eligibility criteria for ENYTB regular season play;CLICK HERE for an overview of the player eligibility criteria for NABF post-season play; CLICK HERE for an overview of the player eligibility criteria for AABC post-season play; CLICK HERE for an overview of the player eligibility criteria for PONY post-season play; and, CLICK HERE for an overview of the player eligibility criteria for ECTB post-season play..
