ENYTB Fall Bat Rules = 1 Year Less Than Age Of Fall Team

All Fall teams shall be allowed to follow the bat rules for teams one year younger than their team's fall age.

The reason we do this is because we require our Fall teams to register at next year's age in order to get teams on the right sized fields for next season. There is no point in a 12u team (summer 2016) playing on a 70' field when its players will never be eligible to play on that sized field again.

So while there is good reason to accelerate the field size in Fall, there is no good reason to also accelerate the bat rules. Players at the younger ages need the extra time to grow into the heavier bats.

Example:

Spring/Summer Team Age = 13U and follows 13U playing rules, incl bat rules
Same Team In Fall = 14U and follows 14u playing rules, except for bat rules, where it follows the 13u bat rules.

NOTE: Bat rules are dictated by the team's age, not the player's age. Players that are younger (or older) than their team age must follow the bat rules that are applicable to their team.

Thank you,
Ed
