THREE NO FEE POSTSEASON OPTIONS, Including Travel Money Of Up To $1,000 Per Team For Teams Winning FREE PONY/NABF Berth Competitions
posted by Administrator 01/14/2017 09:01:26
THREE "NO FEE" POSTSEASON OPTIONS,Including Travel Money Of Up To $1,000 Per TeamFor Teams Winning The NO FEE PONY/NABF Berth CompetitionsAt All Ages!Traditionally, ENYTB has priced its postseason on a la carte basis based on out-of-pocket costs to the league of providing them. i.e., you only pay for what you take and there is no league mark-up. ENYTB began deviating from this policy in 2016 by offering certain tournaments for free. The costs of the FREE items were absorbed in large part from general league revenue as well as by money collected from fines. By increasing participation in FREE events, this policy change achieved its desired effect. Thus, it is ENYTB policy in 2017 to expand its "NO FEE" postseason offerings in the hope of increasing participation in other events as well. This year's NO FEE stuff is last year's FREE stuff, plus more. FREE stuff is no longer fully accurate as ENYTB is introducing a new fee this year called the "Postseason Access Fee" ($100 per team that wishes to take advantage of ENYTB's menu of postseason options, including both NO FEE and FOR FEE). This fee is further described below along with how the money from this fee will be returned to 16 NO FEE berth winners in the form of travel money from the league.Teams that do not want to participate in ENYTB's postseason program can avoid this fee altogether. All ENYTB registered teams will have the following NO FEE options available to them in 2017:One local tournament berth (June Madness or Super 8 tournament, depending on team age;Eligibility to compete for one tournament berth to a PONY sanctioned National Championship Tournament Series; and, Eligibility to compete for one tournament berth to an NABF sanctioned World Series. In addition, ENYTB will provide up to $1,000 in travel money to each team that accepts the free PONY/NABF berth and participates in the tournament. More specifically, ENYTB will offer all the following tournaments and programs for NO FEE:EarlyBird Program - exhibition play during April/May for 13u/14U teams that wish to participate;June Madness Tournament - ages 9U-12U;SUPER 8 Tournament - ages 13U-18U;Free PONY registration for any team that wants to compete with other ENYTB teams for a berth to the PONY National Championship Tournament Series (all single year ages from 9U through 23U), including up to $1,000 per team travel money; and,Free NABF registration for any team that wants to compete with other ENYTB teams for a berth to the NABF World Series (two year age groupings from 10U through 22U), including up to $1,000 per team travel money.NOTE: Team must attend tournament to qualify for the travel money.Teams can select any number of these NO FEE options by simply placing a check-mark in the checkbox associated with that item on its team registration form. The team registration form also includes all additional items that require payment of a fee and that your team is eligible to sign up for. e.g., guaranteed berths to AABC, NABF and PONY sanctioned National Championship Tournament Series. IMPORTANT: Teams that fail to register for optional items in the manner just prescribed will NOT be registered for those items. In other words, just because ENYTB makes an option NO FEE, doesn't mean there aren't costs to the league associated with registering your team with national sanctioning bodies, etc. Thus, we don't assume that your team is available and interested unless you tell us so by placing a check-mark in the appropriate checkbox, FEE or NO FEE. Optional Postseason Access FeeTo view the menu of NO FEE and FOR FEE options on your team registration form, you will first be required to place a check-mark in the checkbox marked postseason access fee. If, after viewing this menu, you uncheck the postseason checkbox, you will not be charged any postseason fee and any options you may have selected will be deselected. The postseason access fee is a one time fee applicable to only those teams that choose to register for one or more postseason items (non FEE or FOR FEE) other than the Last Man Standing Tournament. All proceeds from this fee shall be used to provide travel money, up to $1,000 per team, to the teams that win the NO FEE competitive berths for PONY and NABF and participate in those tournaments.By structuring the fee this way, the costs of providing teams with travel money are borne by only those teams who actually benefit from ENYTB's postseason programs. NOTE: Teams that elect to participate in only the EarlyBird Program and/or the Last Man Standing Tournament shall not be required to pay the postseason access fee.
