    (1) MAIN OBJECTIVES

    The objectives of the ENYTB CAP system are twofold:

    (i) to provide "unhappy" players, regardless of reason, with sufficient flexibility to change clubs/teams within the league from one year to the next; and,

    (ii) to prevent members from forming powerhouse teams by engaging in unlimited or extreme recruiting at the expense of their fellow members.

    (2) ENYTB Guiding Philosophy

    Unlike other local travel leagues (Empire/Babe Ruth) or house leagues (Babe Ruth), ENYTB does not limit a player's opportunity to play baseball based on territorial boundaries.

    (A) All first-time ENYTB players have the freedom of choice as to what club/team to play for.

    Once a player/family commits to playing for a team, he can not play for any other ENYTB team on a primary basis for the entirety of his first season with that team.

    Regardless of reason, when a player's choice of team doesn't prove to be a good fit for him, ENYTB believes it is a win-win for all concerned, to grant players the opportunity to find a better fit elsewhere in this league.

    (B) All ENYTB rostered players are eligible to change teams once their first season with a team is concluded.

    ENYTB limits the overall number of players each team may take from the league player pool in the current year. ENYTB also limits how many players any team can take from any other team in the same year as well as over their common lifetime.

    Each team is granted a number of overall player credits annually. Teams also can earn bonus credits by bringing UFAs into the league. These RFA credits are used to acquire players from other ENYTB teams.

    The only other requirement to a player transaction is that the player or his family agrees to the change.

    NOTE: Players that qualify for any of several special exemptions recognized by the league, may be taken w/o using these credits.

    Once a team exhausts its credits in any year, it has taken its limit of players from other league teams for that year and it can have no more.

    NOTE: If a team is out of credits and it has suffered player losses to the extent that its viability is at stake. it may apply to the league for CAP relief.

    Prior to 2013, ENYTB used a "release" system to provide teams with roster protection from their fellow members. In 2013, that system was replaced with a TEAM CAP system that limits how many players a particular team can take in a given year from the rosters all other ENYTB teams combined as well as from any individual team.

    Yes, players are allowed to play for two or more ENYTB teams if and only if each team is registered at a different primary age.

    EXCEPTION: If a player is CUT by a team before he participates in three ENYTB games in the current season with that team, he may sign with another team in the same age division in the current season with league approval.

    When a player is participating on two or more teams at once, he shall be designated as "primary" by one of his teams and "secondary" by all others.

    PRIMARY - The primary team alone enjoys "roster protection" privileges within the league for the player and has first preference to his time in the event of any conflicts between the activities of the player's primary team and any of his secondary teams.

    NOTE: The primary team also has the option to grant the player whatever leave it wishes to play for any of his secondary teams.

    NOTE: If a player has an unexcused absence from his primary team to play for one of his secondary teams, that player is subject to removal from the roster of that secondary team for the remainder of that season, including post-season, at the request of his primary team.

    SANCTIONED TOURNAMENT PLAY

    Players can NOT participate in sanctioned tournaments in different age levels under the same sanctioning body.

    Each national sanctioning body require all players playing on sanctioned teams in more than one age level to declare by no later than July 1, which age-division the player wishes to be post-season eligible for.

    EXCEPTIONS: NABF allows players to participate in the post-season at both the 17U and 18U age divisions. It is the same for players in the 22U and Adult divisions.

    The league requires each player to be post-season eligible with his primary team unless his primary team is a long shot to earn a berth and then the player is allowed to declare eligibility for the secondary team of his choice.

    NOTE: The primary team can grant a player the option of declaring his post-season eligibility with his secondary team if it so chooses.

Custom Scheduling

ENYTB puts you in the driver’s seat in determining when and how much you team plays as well as who you play.
  • Have your schedule include the exact number of games you want week-by-week as well as in total;
  • Have your HOME games scheduled only on the dates/times your home field and team are both available;
  • Have your AWAY games scheduled only on the dates/times your team is available;
  • Automatically eliminate opponents outside your team’s competitive range; and,
  • Top priority given to scheduling games with specific opponents that you designate as most preferred. You can also block specific opponents you prefer not playing.

Schedule Reliability

Schedule reliability is the hallmark of every great league!
  • Teams are required to play all games as scheduled;
  • 100% enforcement via ENYTB website;
  • More than 90% of all ENYTB scheduled games are played as scheduled, excluding cancellations due to bad weather;
  • Games that aren’t played as scheduled (forfeits) can be made up at a later time by mutual agreement to avoid fine;
  • Fines are imposed for un-played or un-scored games;
  • ENYTB guarantees reimbursement for unavoidable out-of-pocket game expenses due to late cancellations.

  • OPEN tournament: Last Man Standing. 3 game guarantee. Last weekend of July. All teams in the Capital District and beyond are welcome to join in this summer finale! Members sign up on team order form. Non-members sign up on-line through tournament menu.
  • Sanctioned National Championship Tournament Series are available to members at all ages via ENYTB affiliates: NABF; PONY; and, AABC. Sign-up available on team order form.
