Looking Forward to 2011 and Beyond...No league is perfect but we try. Schedule reliability is probably the most common problem shared by all leagues. Changes In ENYTB Governance and Administration For 2011
posted by Administrator 12/11/2010 08:12:05
ENYTB is incorporated as a non-profit organization and is governed by a three person Executive Board. A second league body, the Member's Council, advises the Executive Board on all policy and program matters. I am pleased to announce Rick Miller was recently appointed to the Executive Board, filling the position of Vice-President, vacated by Matt George at the end of last season. Returning Executive Board members include: Ed Frye, league founder and President; and, Paul Butch, Treasurer. Matt Terry and John Barna served the league well in this capacity in 2010 and I am pleased to announce that they have agreed to continue in their capacities in 2011. I welcome them back. The membership once again can be confident that the organization has a strong and capable management team at the helm. Daily operations are the responsibility of the League Director. For the 16th consecutive season, Ed Frye will assume the duties of that position. Assisting Ed will be newly hired, Sharon Montagne, Administrative Assistant. Together, Ed and Sharon provide all services required to operate the league and satisfy the various needs of the membership (referred to collectively as Member Services). Sharon also will assume lead responsibility for investigating ALL inter-member disputes e.g., complaints of player tampering, sportsmanship violations, etc. Sharon has a strong background in both the sports and non-sports world that equips her to serve these duties well.NOTE: Last year the responsibility for resolving inter-member disputes resided with the MC. This task proved to be more time consuming than anticipated and significantly distracted the MC from focusing on its primary duties e.g., monitoring/advising the EB on policy and programmatic affairs. For this reason, the investigation task was transferred to Admin. Sharon's ability and willingness to perform this function was an important factor in her selection. She will report her findings to both bodies. In each "case", the MC shall review Sharon's report and request additional information as necessary, before rendering its opinion(s) on the proper disposition of the matter, in accordance with the ENYTB constitution. The EB shall then review all findings and opinions and render a final judgment.

As you know by now if you have been reading these announcements, ENYTB is the opposite of a one-size-fits-all league. For example, ENYTB provides teams with centralized access to as many as five different sanctioned National Championship Tournament Series... read more
