Multi-Sanctioning and ENYTB's Online Roster Management System
posted by Administrator 02/19/2008 11:02:13
One of the many great benefits ENYTB offers its members is centralized access to post-season play under three different sanctioning bodies: AABC, NABF and PONY. Because of multi-sanctioning, ENYTB is able to send more than 80 teams every year to sanctioned National Championship Tournament Series post-season play. Every age division has access to three different sanctioned National Championship Tournament Series and the entry-level tournament in each Series is hosted locally, often by ENYTB. Having regular season games count for something and giving all teams a realistic chance to qualify for one or more National Championship Tournament Series, uniquely defines the ENYTB program. Multiple sanctioning, however, can be confusing in various ways to new and veteran members alike. For example, ENYTB teams can have as many as four regular season rosters, not to mention three other tournament rosters. This article will address the roster aspects of multi-sanctioning and how the website makes it easy for ENYTB teams to manage their multiple rosters simultaneously and w/o entering the same information more than once.Being a member of a multi-sanctioned league like ENYTB is like being a member of four leagues at once i.e., ENYTB has its player eligibility rules and above that, each sanctioning body has its own player eligibility rules. In addition, each sanctioning body also requires the team roster to be printed on its own official roster form. ENYTB has taken the hassle out of the multi-roster process by building a website capability that automatically manages the entire player eligibility and roster process for each team regardless of its sanctioning choices. ENYTB members avoid the drudgery of providing the same information to four different entities on four different forms. Moreover, the different eligibility rules/restrictions of each entity are built-in to their respective roster forms so that players can NOT be added to a roster if they violate any of the rules applicable to that roster. When a violation occurs, an on-screen message immediately informs the user of the specific violation. enytb.com's ONLINE ROSTER MANAGEMENT SYSTEMSTEP 1 - Each team enters its sanctioning choices (Team Registration > Registration);STEP 2 - Each team adds its players to its league roster once (Team Registration > Rosters > Add Player); and,Step 3 - The website does the rest!!! "SMART"-ROSTERS->Advantage #1 - When you add a player to your roster the website automatically verifies that the player complies with all league eligibility criteria. These are:(a) age-eligible based on the age of your team;(b) inter-member restrictions on player procurement i.e., does the player require a release to play for your club in this league; and,(c) maximum roster size - 21 players (college and adult = 25 player max).Players that pass all league eligibility criteria are automatically added to your ENYTB league roster and are eligible for your team's ENYTB regular season play.Advantage #2 - The website applies the additional eligibility criteria required by each sanctioning body, e.g., cutoff date for adding new players or a different age cutoff or a different max roster size or age minimums, etc. If your team is registered for AABC and the player meets all eligibility criteria for AABC, he is added to your team's AABC roster. This process is repeated for NABF and PONY even if you have not registered for either of those sanctioning bodies (in case you change mind later, prior to the close of league registration, and add that sanctioning option. If a player fails any eligibility criterion, the user is informed via an instant on-screen message. ONLINE ROSTER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - MANUAL OVERRIDESTeams can NOT override the applicable eligibility criteria but they can make manual changes as which of the eligible players are added to a roster. Advantage #3 - The website gives each club/team the ability to manually move its ENYTB eligible players onto and off each sanctioned roster by simply clicking an "arrow" or an "X". This feature is particularly helpful if you have more players on your league roster than a sanctioning body allows. You get to pick which players are on your sanctioned roster and which are not. ONLINE ROSTER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - PRINTS ROSTERS ON OFFICIAL FORMSAdvantage #4 - The website will print off each team's roster for each sanctioning body on the official roster form of each sanctioning body. NOTE: Only the AABC roster needs signatures so that is the only roster teams have to print themselves and have signed by the player and parent/guardian and then submit to the league in hard-copy.ONLINE ROSTER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - TOURNAMENT ROSTERSAdvantage #5 - when a team wins and accepts a berth to a sanctioned tournament, the website gives it an official tournament roster form completely filled in.Advantage #6 - All sanctioning bodies allow teams to draft players from other eligible teams in their league that did not qualify for the tournament. These players must be included on a team's tournament roster and usually time is short to obtain this information. ENYTB's online roster management system allows each team to add its drafted players to its tournament roster and automatically fills out the roster form for each drafted player. Advantage # 7 - the website also will print your team's tournament roster on the official tournament roster form of each sanctioning body, which often require different forms and information from the rosters submitted for the regular season, often referred to as "eligibility" rosters. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXNEW in 2008 - A new online ROSTER REPORT is now available to assist each club/team as well as the league office manage and have oversight over the entire roster process. To be sure that your team has all its rosters set correctly on the website:Go to -> Team Registration > Rosters > Summary StatusThis function will show you:(1) How many players you have added to your ENYTB roster (serves as a master eligibility list for regular season play);(2) Whether you have entered all required contact info for all of you roster players; and,(3) Whether you have submitted a copy each player's birth certificate to the league for age confirmation. In addition, it also shows how many players you have added to each sanctioned roster for each sanctioning body you have registered with.
