New in 2008 - Player Releases Will be Automated Online
posted by Administrator 12/16/2007 08:12:40
Many times our protocols on player restrictions don't get followed because telephoning a fellow manager to request a release for one one of his top players is not a fun thing to do. Beginning in 2008, years will be able to request player releases via the website. Roster Players - When you use ADD PLAYER to add a player from another team's roster to your roster, you will be told the player is restricted and requires a release. Then you will be asked if you would like to initialize a release request. If you say yes, the player will be put on a "Release Pending" list and he will be sent an auto-email asking him to confirm the release request. If he confirms the release request it will entered to the Release Pending list, and another auto-email will be triggered to his prior year's team, asking them id they agree to the release and giving them 15 days to respond. Failure to respond will result in automatic release. The team's response to the request, will be entered to the Release Pending list when it is received and a 3rd auto-email will be generated to the player, informing him of the result of his request. If he was released, he will be free to sign with any team of his choice. All auto-emails will be cc'd to all club/team owners/coaches on both teams as well as both club's league reps and teh league president. Restricted Free Agents - At ages 15U and under, ENYTB restricts players who would be first time league participants from signing with a club from outside their "native" franchise area w/o giving their home area club(s) an opportunity to interest them in playing for their local program. Unlike with Roster Players, a RFA can effect his own release by simply talking to his home area club and deciding not to sign with them. This protocol will be automated within the website in very similar manner to the protected roster player protocol described above. At the very least, this will keep our franchise and co-franchise members apprised of the goings-on with RFA residing in their franchise area and give them the opportunity to intervene before the player can commit to another club, in the event the player was unaware of what their local program had to offer.League operations will greatly facilitated by having these protocols as well as the new protocols for schedule changes, automated within the website.
