ENYTB's 2nd season is around the corner and it is still not to late to enter ENYTB's league tournaments if you act now. There are LIMITED OPENINGS in Legs 2 and 3 of the Triple Play package (described below):* We have RE-OPENED REGISTRATIONS for the next 10 days. * As soon as a tournament group fills, registration in that group will be locked down. * Registration will also close in tournament groups that have not filled by June 15th and a modified tournament format will be adopted to accommodate the smaller field. * If the field for any tournament grouping is deemed too small to provide a reasonable tournament, full refunds will be given.Teams have until June 15th to contact me and get me their entry fees ($200) if they want in. Here's your 2nd and last chance - don't get locked out - remember, as soon as a group fills up registration in that group will be locked down. All tournament details and current entrants are provided below. This year, for the first time ever, ENYTB is offering its members a "Triple Play" package of non-stop, exciting tournament competition throughout the month of July.It all begins with multiple sanctioned tournaments at every age division. Then, as soon as the last sanctioned tournament in your age division ends, the second leg of the Triple Play package begins with the brand new Divisional League Championship Series (DLCS) where ENYTB teams are classified by age and skill level (Class AA and Class A) and an ENYTB champion is crowned in each age division and class. We're not done yet! As soon as the DLCS ends, the Last Man Standing Tournament (LMS) kicks off. A great 3-day format that guarantees every entrant progresses to the semi-final round. When play begins on the final day, every team is two wins away from being crowned Champs! You asked for it and ENYTB has delivered: a second season for the die-hards, of low cost, non-stop, exciting tournament action, on local fields against classified competition through the end of July. What better way to top off your season for your players and families.Leg 1: Sanctioned TournamentsThe first leg of ENYTB's Triple Play includes 20 SANCTIONED tournaments: 14 tournaments that we host for AABC, NABF and PONY, four other local AABC tournaments that we don't host, and two non-local PONY tournaments. This year ENYTB will be sending more than 80 teams to sanctioned tournaments. In addition, each of these tournaments is the entry-level tournament in a National Championship Tournament Series that includes advancement for each winner until a national champion is crowned in that age division and affiliation.Once the entry-level sanctioned tournaments end, organized summer play usually ends or winds down to a crawl. Many ENYTB teams being the baseball junkies they are, think early to mid-July is too early to stop playing meaningful baseball. They want to keep going and they want to play for something, not just pick-up games. And they would prefer to do it locally, against classified competition and they don't want to spend a lot of money on entry fees.Legs 2 and 3 of ENYTB's Triple Play Tournament Package.Leg 2: Divisional League Championship Series (DCLS)This tournament is brand new in 2007 and some would say long overdue. It is designed to crown a league champion in each age division and thus, is open to ENYTB teams only. Each year teams give me less and less availability for scheduling. Despite this, in the first week of the season, teams are postponing games at a record clip. It appears too many teams have too little time to play baseball.(1) Less than a week into the season and we have far too many postponements.Last night was a beautiful evening, sunny and 75 de...

The weather mostly cooperated, and well over 200 games were played this weekend. I spent Saturday and Sunday traveling to ballparks taking in the action and renewing acquaintances with many of you. I'm sorry I was unable to make it to Amsterdam on Monday as planned to take in a couple of TC Bees games at beautiful Shuttleworth Park. From Friday on,...
