Invariably, every season, some teams over-schedule themselves. Othersfind themselves misclassified. And still others simply put little orno effort in pre-planning their play dates. Whatever the reason, theresult is the same, teams that want to play baseball are gettingUNWANTED requests for non-weather postponements and/or cancellations, often on sho...

Each year teams give me less and less availability for scheduling. Despite this, in the first week of the season, teams are postponing games at a record clip. It appears too many teams have too little time to play baseball.(1) Less than a week into the season and we have far too many postponements.Last night was a beautiful evening, sunny and 75 de...

The weather mostly cooperated, and well over 200 games were played this weekend. I spent Saturday and Sunday traveling to ballparks taking in the action and renewing acquaintances with many of you. I'm sorry I was unable to make it to Amsterdam on Monday as planned to take in a couple of TC Bees games at beautiful Shuttleworth Park. From Friday on,...

May 15 is the big day.(1) ALL schedules at 13U and up will be complete by sometime tomorrow, Tuesday May 15. All MPG were done on Friday and I am in the middle of EGs. I have about 250 extra games to go, mostly at 13 thru 16. I will announce as soon as I'm done.(2) RULE: NO ROSTER = NO TEAM.Tomorrow = May 15 = deadline for having your online rosters set with at least 9 players. If you fail to have 9 players entered by tomorrow, you fail the most basic test of league participation and your website privileges will be terminated. As mentioned many times this year, we will NOT allow a repeat of last season, when 25% of teams never submitted a roster. It is quite simple, if you want to play in this league, you must have 9 players entered by tomorrow!NOTE: Website is programmed to AUTOMATICALLY knock-you-out AT 12:01 am TONIGHT if your team has < 9 players on its online roster.(1) DR teams are treated as single teams for this test.(2) OL (overlap teams) are treated as two separate teams e.g, GLD BB 18OL22 and BETH 18OL17 etc. must have separate rosters set up for both teams.NOTE: Overlap teams need to be insured at the oldest age level to have coverage of ALL their players.(3) TEAM PAPERWORKWee need three things from every team:(a) signed AABC roster(s) if AABC registered.(b) berth certs for all players appearing on roster.(c) copy of team insurance with ENYTB list as additional insured (if you don't have us listed, please submit what you have and send us the additional insured as soon as you can get it).TEAMS ===> give their info to ====> your club rep (the member that "owns" your team)CLUB REPS ====> Collect above from ALL your teams and submit as a single package to your LEAGUE REP - DO NOT PIECE-MEAL US THE INFO - It will be lost. And remember, we must have this info BEFORE you play your first league game OR all your scheduled games will be ruled as FORFEIT LOSSES until we are in receipt of all three items above. The roster process has received little respect in past years and the league is cracking down this year. Our affiliates demand to have rosters. The insirance companies demand to have rosters. YOU MUST SUBMIT ROSTERS BEFORE YOU PLAY.I hope it is PAINFULLY clear that ALL teams must enter their rosters online and only AABC registered teams need to send in signed hardcopy.I also hope it is PAINFULLY clear that ALL teams must submit berth certs for all their players, regardless of what they are signed up for.And I hope it is PAINFULLY clear that ALL teams must copies of their team insurance. And I hope every teams knows that it should give its info to its club rep.And I hope every club knows it should collect this info from ALL its teams BEFORE sending to their League REP a single package.Thank you and I will be back tomorrow with the pending schedule announcement.
FYI: The league schedule is built in accordance with the information each team supplied to the League regarding the availability of its team and home field(s) throughout the 2007 season. This information is very interdependent. Once games have been scheduled, changing a single piece of information can set off a ripple effect across the entire leagu...
