Whatever the reason, theresult is the same, teams that want to play baseball are gettingUNWANTED requests for non-weather postponements and/or cancellations, often on sho...

Each year teams give me less and less availability for scheduling. Despite this, in the first week of the season, teams are postponing games at a record clip. It appears too many teams have too little time to play baseball.(1) Less than a week into the season and we have far too many postponements.Last night was a beautiful evening, sunny and 75 de...

I'm sorry I was unable to make it to Amsterdam on Monday as planned to take in a couple of TC Bees games at beautiful Shuttleworth Park. From Friday on,...

FYI: The league schedule is built in accordance with the information each team supplied to the League regarding the availability of its team and home field(s) throughout the 2007 season. This information is very interdependent. Once games have been scheduled, changing a single piece of information can set off a ripple effect across the entire league schedule that may require hours to work through. Many don't appreciate this fact and continue to want to make changes to your team and/or field time availability EVEN AFTER I have already scheduled games on the dates/times previously provided. This can NOT be allowed for the obvious reason that if I were to grant such requests, the league schedule would NEVER be completed - I would spend each day changing what I had already scheduled to accommodate that day's revisions in availability. After the schedule is made official, it is up to the teams involved to work out any rescheduling issues. Neither me nor the league reps need to be involved in this process. You get to do that yourself, or at least try, AFTER the schedule is made official. Recall the league has a "grace period" for reschedules that immediately follows the official release of the schedule where teams are obligated to grant reschedules IF they are consistent with the availability data they gave me. Of course, some games may not be possible to reschedule (a team may be scheduled to play on all its available dates). Thus, there is some probability that if you gave me incorrect or outdated team availability info, you may have to forfeit some games if you your opponent is unable to accomodate your request for a reschedule. There is no other alternative. In general however, 95% of reschedules are accommodated during the grace period so this is usually a very minor problem. RESCHEDULE PROCESS: Simple as 1-2-3(1) As soon as the league schedule is announced official, determine which games you absolutely need to try to reschedule;(2) Immediately call each the manager or primary contact for the opponent in each such game (by clicking opponent team name on your schedule), explain your situation, and try to find a reschedule date/time/place that works for both parties. It does not matter to the league where or when the game is played, only that the two of you agree. (3) The home team then postpones the game on the website and reschedules it to the agreed upon date, time and place. If it is a must play game be careful that it has been rescheduled to be played prior to the deadline shown on each standings that it is a must play game for. When the home team updates the website schedule, the website instantly auto-emails all affected parties (coaches, players, etc.) and league officials, notifying everyone that the schedule change has been agreed to as reflected on both teams' updated online schedule. This is why we don't encourage teams to print their schedule, but to consult it online to be sure you are working from the most current schedule. The same reschedule procedure is used after the grace period ends but the difference is you opponent has no obligation to grant a non-weather related reschedule. He can insist you either play or forfeit and you have no further recourse. If he grants the non-weather reschedule, he assumes equal liability if the game is unplayed at season's end i.e., he get no points (it can not be forfeited).Weather-related postponements, including unplayable field conditions due to recent weather are of course handled differently. For a thorough explanation of reschedules see FAQ.
