There is much confusion over the roster protocols of ENYTB and its various sanctioning bodies. This article provides members with a comprehensive presentation of these protocols as well as ENYTB''s requirement (new in 2007) that ALL teams must have at least 9 players on their ENYTB roster eligibility list prior to May 15 or be disqualified from eligibility for any ENYTB activity that requires roster certification, including regular season play and all sanctioned tournament eligibility. Such teams will lose ENYTB rights to their players as well. It should be also noted that if you buy insurance through carriers for AABC, NABF or PONY, they require that you provide them with a copy of your roster as well. Failure to do so could invalidate your coverage.enytb.com maintains as many as 9 different rosters for each team, depending on what the team registers for. They are:For ALL ENYTB teams, regardless of registration choices:(1) ENYTB eligibility roster (no signatures required/no form to submit/no cut-off date for adding new players);(2) NABF regular season eligibility roster (no signatures required/no form to submit/cut-off date applies (League Office can print));For ALL teams that are NABF tournament berth winners:(3) NABF tournament rosters (signatures required/submit completed/signed form to League Rep for certification); For ALL teams that register for an NABF Classic:(4) NABF Classic rosters (signatures required/submit completed/signed form to League Rep for certification); For ALL teams that register for AABC sanctioning:(5) AABC regular season rosters (signatures required/submit completed/signed form to League Rep for certification/cut=off date applies); For ALL double registered teams:(6) a AABC regular season roster in the higher age division (signatures required/submit completed/signed form to League Rep for certification);Note: This roster will be identical to your first AABC roster form except it will be labeled with a different age. You can have your players/parents sign both rosters at once or, if you have a signed roster you can copy it and simply change the age adivision label. For ALL teams that are AABC tournament berth winners:(7) AABC tournament rosters (signatures required/submit completed/signed form to League Rep for certification); For ALL teams that register for PONY sanctioning:(8) PONY regular season rosters (no signatures required/no form submittal to ENYTB required (League Office can print)).For ALL teams that are PONY tournament berth winners:(9) PONY tournament rosters (signatures required/submit completed/signed form to League Rep for certification).enytb.com's fully automated roster function also applies all mandatory player eligibility criteria applicable to each roster, including age, League player rights, and any various additional sanctioning body criteria e.g., cut-off dates and roster size limits. enytb.com will NOT let you add a player to a roster if he would violate any of the criteria for that roster. Such players will trigger a message informing you that the player could not be added to a specific roster for a specific reason. More re: RostersAs mentioned, regardless of registration choices, ALL ENYTB teams have to maintain and keep current the following two rosters:(1) ENYTB roster (eligibility list) - This roster can NOT be printed but it serves as each team''s official roster list as far as player eligibility for ENYTB regular season play is concerned. To legally participate in an ENYTB League game, a player MUST must appear on a team's ENYTB roster BEFORE he appears in a League game. Players can be added/dropped from this roster list at any time. No player can appear on a team's sanctioned roster without also appearing on its ENYTB player eligibility roster. However, players can appear on a team's ENYTB player eligibility roster without being eligible to be added to one or more sanctioned rosters. This can occur because of different cut-off dates and/or limits on roster size. enytb.com automatically screens each player for all eligiblilty criteria applicable to each roster type. When a player is first added, he is checked for age and ENYTB player rights. If he passes both these tests, he is added to the team's ENYTB player eligibility list. He is a legal player for ENYTB regular season play. enytb.com then tests the player for eligibility under the additional criteria of each sanctioning body. The player is automatically added to each sanctioned roster if he doesn't violate the additional restrictions required by each respective body. The user will be alerted with a message when any player fails any of these roster eligibility tests. If it is too late to add a player to a certain roster, there is nothing the user can do to get the player on that roster. If the player exceeds the roster limit, the user has the option of removing another player and adding the current player. Desperate times require desperate measures:ENYTB has gone to extraordinary lengths to help teams manage their various rosters. Everything is automated once the player is first entered to the system. All player info is maintained from one year to the next. Players returning from the prior year require a mere check-mark to be added to a team's current year eligibility list and ALL of its sanctioned rosters for the current year. Additional action is required if and only if a player violates a roster eligibility criteria. Thus, the entire procedure takes no more than a few short minutes. However, it takes two to tango. Every year, numerous teams fail to file a roster with the League. 2006 was so bad that all three national sanctioning bodies threatened to penalize ENYTB if it happens again. Thus, beginning in 2007, ENYTB is requiring ALL teams to have at least 9 players on their online ENYTB player eligibility list by May 15th. After that date, any ENYTB team w/o at least 9 players on its online ENYTB roster shall be tossed from the League. Such teams shall be:(a) Disqualified from eligibility for any ENYTB activity that requires roster certification, including all sanctioned tournament eligibility. (b) Stripped of any ENYTB player rights i.e., its players will be free to join other ENYTB teams. (c) Given FORFEIT LOSSES for all scheduled ENYTB games. (d) Deprived of ACCESS to enytb.com for the entire season. enytb.com makes the task of maintaining a roster as painless as possible (players need to be added once regardless of number of rosters required, and all forms are printed, completely filled in, off the website). Yet many teams still do not do their part to make the system work. It is the responsibility of every club rep to make sure his teams enter their rosters to enytb.com in a timely manner! This rule will be strictly enforced in 2007 (9 players listed online by May 15 or it''s all over for that team). (2) NABF Regular Season rosterENYTB registers ALL teams with NABF. These registrations are required by NABF in order to qualify the League for the tournament berths it purchases. Thus, it is necessary that all teams keep current their online NABF regular season roster. Additional benefits of being NABF registered include: team eligibility for NABF insurance and player eligibility to be "drafted" by other ENYTB teams as pick-up players for NABF sanctioned tournament play. NABF roster protocol:(a) NABF has separate roster forms for determining eligibility for the regular season and their tournament series;(b) NABF regular season rosters do NOT need to be signed. Thus, they need only be entered online and the League Office can print them off the website and submit them to NABF. (c) In the event your team wins and accepts an NABF tournament berth, the website will then provide you with a NABF tournament roster form to be completed at that time. Note: NABF tournament rosters must be printed from enytb.com by the team because they require signatures. The signed NABF tournament roster must be submitted to your League Rep for League certification. Teams that elect to register for AABC and/or PONY sanctioned tournament eligibility are provided additional online roster forms:(1) AABC regular season roster protocol.Teams that register for AABC sanctioning are required to submit a signed AABC roster to their League Rep BEFORE they play their first League game and NO LATER than May 15. *Failure to do so will result in the loss of AABC sanctioning. *Teams have until 5 days after AABC''s final deadline (June 15 at 14U and under and July 1 at 15U and older) to submit a signed, amended AABC roster. Failure to submit a signed AABC roster in a timely manner will also disqualify ALL players from that team from being eligible to be drafted into a AABC tournament by another ENYTB team. Several teams in 2006 were prevented from drafting players from AABC registered teams because those teams had NOT submitted a signed AABC roster. These players were ruled INELIGIBLE for tournament participation per George Rogers, UNYSABA/AABC Commissioner. It was a shame because the players had really wanted to play in these tournaments but they were disqualified because their manager didn''t make the minimal effort to submit a signed AABC roster for his team.(2) AABC tournament roster protocol.AABC uses the same form for regular season and tournament rosters. The difference between the two is that teams are allowed to add three "pick-up" players for tournament play from other League teams registered with AABC but not qualifying for tournament berths themselves. Each team's tournament roster must be certified at the paperwork meeting held just prior to the start of each AABC tournament. Pick-up players are drafted immediately following the awarding of berths. This draft is conducted face-to-face, and is done in a prescribed order. Following this meeting, an online AABC tournament roster will appear on enytb.com for each team with a berth. Teams can use enytb.com to add its drafted players to its roster and print off the web. Teams then need only to obtain the signatures of the drafted players and their parents.(3)PONY regular season roster protocol. These rosters do NOT need to be signed. Thus, the League Office will print these rosters off enytb.com following the PONY cut-off date, which is July 1 for all age divisions. Any player not added to a PONY roster prior to the PONY cut-off date shall be disqualified from being eligible to participate in a PONY tournament with that team or any other team (as a draftee into a PONY tournament by another ENYTB team). (4) PONY tournament roster protocol.Any team winning/accepting a PONY berth shall be provided an online PONY tournament roster. Teams may construct their tournament rosters by adding players from PONY regular season rosters for up to 10 PONY registered/eligible teams, including their own. This must be done via enytb.com. The tournament team must can then print its PONY tournament roster from enytb.com, obtain all required signatures and submit to the League Office for certification.

Since 1999, ENYTB's main program offering at 13U/15U has been AABC. But, as was discussed in both sessions of last weekend's annual Kick-Off meeting, the AABC program at 13U and 15U is not a good idea for teams lacking the financial wherewithal to travel across country at their own expense.1. AABC's entry-level tournament at 13U/15U is comprised mo...
