10U meeting began at 4:00PM @SMS. Tom Sisson, 10U League Coordinator, and myself, conducted the festivities. A four page handout was prepared and distributed to all attendees that included: (i) the meeting agenda (soup to nuts re: league participation);(ii) a summary of all sanctioned tournaments in these age divisions (taken from website); (iii) a sample team registration page (taken from website); and, (iv) a one page overview of the website. Registrations in this division appeared to be 7 as of the meeting but have grown to 9 since with two teams still possibilities. If you are interested in entering a 10U team and haven''t done so, what are you waiting for?! TEAMS NEEDING PLAYERS - It was announced that Tim Thibodeau of Cohoes has several players available for placement. WFD was in need of players and would follow up (Joe Bruton). REGULATION SIZED FIELDS - 46'' pitching and 65'' basepaths Almost all teams had a home field and most of those will be regulation size. It was agreed that if teams didn''t have a regulation sized field, a 50''6"/70'' would be preferred to a 46''/60'' field. However, it also was agreed that if a 60'' field was all that was available, it could be used. There will be leading, stealing and balks on all sized fields except the 46''/60''. It also was agreed that umpires would be allowed to give at least one balk warning with instruction by the ump if they like. All playing rules from last year''s 11U/12U division were accepted except for the catcher contact rule was modified as follows: Runner must either slide OR, if upright, avoid significant contact with the catcher in the vicinity of home plate. Head first slides are legal at all bases although it was recommended that runners not be taught to slide headfirst into the catcher. ENYTB team registration process was presented and discussed. It was agreed that all teams would be fully registered by APR 1, including team registration selections, payment and pre-scheduling info. Rosters are required on the website along with a signed copy of the AABC roster to the LC prior to each team''s first game. Teams can begin and end their seasons as they choose. No games on Easter weekend. Most teams indicated they would not play on Mother''s Day. Memorial Day Weekend will be played as regular season games but on neutral fields in tradition of ENYTB. The AABC State tournament will be hosted at Halfmoon Beginning July 7. The League should have 3 to 4 berths in that tournament. A divisional structure will be established circa 4/1 by Tom and myself. This will include regular and wildcard divisions, the earmarking of tournament berths, the establishment of head-to-head must play requirements and team placements. A PONY berth is available to this division as well. Meeting adjourned at 6:00PM
