This is one of the many benefits of beinga member of ENYTB - a multi-sanctioned league. Almost all 17U/18U teams had sufficient team availability toaccommodate the maximum must play requirements associated with thisdivisional structure. A few however, did not want to play as manygames as required by participation in all wildcards. Those teams weredropped from the various wildcard competitions to reduce their mustplay games below the total number of games requested. (7)ENYTB TournamentsNot a single 17/18 team had any interest in the Div/LeagueChampionshipor Last Man Standing Tournaments. This is not surprising since thesanctioned tournaments in these age divisions start later than at theyounger age divisions. Both tournaments will be discontinued at the older age levelseffective immediately. These tournaments are modestly popular at theyounger ages. To see your team's various divisional placements, go to:MAIN > TEAM HOME > STANDINGS. To see team placements for the entire age division or for anindividual affiliation, go to:Inside-The-League > STANDINGS.As usual if you have any serious concerns about what I have done, please contact me ASAP, I don't want anyone feeling disappointed.Scheduling will begin on Monday and take approximately 3 weeks(estimated target completion date = May 7). I will be reviewingeveryone's field availability data the rest of this week and over theweekend. Once scheduling begins, I will focus on OW/MDW and early May gamesfirst, so that everyone can begin making plans for the start of theirseason. While I'm scheduling, games will appear on your schedules. Invariablythis causes problems because no matter how many times I say it, someof you will think these games are FINAL - they are not until I finishscheduling the last game and then I will make an officialannouncement. I will make an interim announcement when OW and earlyMay games are locked in. If you have an agreement with another member to play a league game atDoubleday Field in Cooperstown or some other special venue or on July4, etc. NOW is the time to let me know so I can hardwire them intothe schedule BEFORE I begin scheduling.Let me repeat 3 times..............(1) All scheduled games are subject to change until the entireleague schedule is complete and announced OFFICIAL by me. (2) All scheduled games are subject to change until the entireleagueschedule is complete and announced OFFICIAL by me. (3) All scheduled games are subject to change until the entireleagueschedule is complete and announced OFFICIAL by me. Every year teams by the dozens see games appear and go off halfcocked thinking that is their schedule. It's NOT! Some games arechanged numerous times along the way before the schedule isfinalized. This is a 3 to 4 week process. As Yogi says, it's notovertil its over. You are welcome to watch and to let me know if I've done somethingwrong i.e., in violation of your instructions. Better that you catchmistakes early. Also, a few of you will have a full or nearly fullseasonschedule in the first week of scheduling, others may not haveanythingscheduled two weeks into the process. This is normal. I schedule inlayers (there were approximately 30 layers last year) and the timingof when I schedule your team depends on what layer your team happensto fall in and that depends on many factors. Of course, as I scheduleyour opponents, their games with you will appear on your schedule aswell. For example, Utica teams are usually scheduled early in theprocess. Thus, your teams with Utica teams are often the first gamesto appear on your schedule. Have faith that in the end, you will getall the games you asked for (if possible and it usually is), all themust play games you need, and all will be scheduled according to theexact information you have provided on team and field availability(to the extent possible). I may evencontact you during the process to discuss a difficult must playmatch-up. This highly customized scheduling service is only available in ENYTB. Besides watching me schedule over the next three weeks, what else canyou be doing?PLEASE GET ALL YOUR TEAM PAPERWORK DONE AND SUBMITTED TO YOUR CLUB'sLeague Rep DURING THE TIME I'M PUTTING YOUR SCHEDULE TOGETHER!(1) Add players to your online roster (must have 9 by May 15 orsayonara). (2) AABC registered teams - print from website (legal size paper) andhave player/parent sign rosters. AABC/NABF rosters can be amendedthrough July 1. We will need a copy of your signed amended AABCroster by 7/5.(3) Copies of each player's birth cert.(4) Copy of team insurance with ENYTB/Ed Frye listed as additionalinsured. If you don't have the league and me listed this year, wewill accept anyways but in the future, please list ENYTB/Ed Frye asan additional insured.Mail items (2), (3) and (4) together (as a single "all or none"package) to your club rep or your club's league rep. Do NOT mail tome unless I am your club's league rep. I am the league rep for allfirst year clubs (not teams, clubs). And, remember, the website is programmed to shut you down on May15th if you don't have 9 players on your online roster. Your rosterdefines your team. No roster = no team. By May 15th we should have nothing to do but wait for opening day!!!Ed

one is the concept of age division directors!ENYTB introduces its new league rep/club rep system.(1) ENYTB calls its member organizations clubs.(2) Each club may have any number of teams.(3) Each club designates a club rep. In the case of independent clubs, this person is usually the club owner but not always. Members that are a part of a basebal... read more
