You guys took it easy on me this weekend. Only three requests forchanges were made. One was easy to do (NYCDK got a twi-night DH4/29), one was impossible (no opponent was available), and one wasaccepted but withdrawn. Also, the roster print function on teh website is now working for allteams (if I'm wrong on that let me know but I logged in as a cl... read more

to find any errors/problems with what I have done. By Monday at noon, the schedule will be official. At that point you can schedule umps, hand out to your players, etc. Until noon Monday, your schedule isstill subject to change depending on what changes I may have to makebetween now and then based on your feedback. Please limit yourself toreal problems and not quibbling about relatively minor items e.g., Iam traveling to Utica twice, instead of once. Ten of the 25 teams areUtica/Syracuse based. We are fortunate our Utica members are willingto host several 3 team split DHs, thereby greatly limitingAlbany/Syracuse travel. One of the schedule highlights this season is that Syracuse willbring both its teams to Albany on June 10 for two DHs. Rotterdam andBethlehem will be the only Albany-side teams making trips to Syracuseand they will host Syracuse when they bring their two teams to Albany.Syracuse will come in on Saturday night (Mike Marra (SYR club owner)knows how to get a good deal on Albany hotel rooms). Both DHs will beplayed at Spring Youth in So. Troy. NOTE: It took me the same amount of time to custom schedule the twoSYR teams as it did the other 12 teams combined, approximately 8hours. It was quite a challenge because of the travel requirements aswell as many other factors e.g., must play opponents, etc.It was not until three days ago that this division settled out interms of who is in and who is out. We lost Niskayuna 12 (GOLD) at the11th hour because 5 of their players made modified and chose to playon the 90' fields (13U) for the summer. But we gained two 12U GOLDteams at the last moment that put us over the top with 14 teams at12U, including 8 GOLD teams. The late additions are: Spring Youth(So. Troy) and Greenfield Yellowjackets (my new favorite name). Spring has two 70' fields, one of which is lighted (giving us two inthe league now, the other being BSPA). Even better, Spring is makingits fields available to other ENYTB teams on a part-time basis. ManyDHs there will have to begin at 9am on Sundays but not all. The Yellowjackets have rented the Greenfield Town Park and will besharing it with the NYCD Knights. The Yellowjackets include manyplayers and familes from last year's Northeast Hurricanes 11U team.Don Bullard is the club owner/rep and did a great job getting me theinformation I needed to get in under the wire. Thanks to Tom Coons inWilton for referring Don to us.We are also sending our 11U and 12U teams who want to play onMemorial Day weekend to the Cooperstown Diamonds 3 field facility inRichmond Springs. All three fields are beautifully manicured, fencedin replicas of the fields at Cooperstown Dreams Park. Look for ads onenytb.com during the season offering great deals (sometimes free) onnational tournaments that they hold each week throughout the summer. On Saturday we will have three DHs, all beginning at noon and Sundaywe will occupy all three fields all day long with 12 games. I havescheduled a mix of split DHs and regular DHs. Where possible, gameswill feature east-west match-ups for obvious reasons. All of you have incredible schedules. Everyone got the number ofgames they wanted, when they wanted. Some teams have 10 consecutiveDHs of awesome opponents. I feel the most important thing we do forour members is provide them with a great regular season schedule. Ihope you like what I've done and I hope you have an awesome season. In these ages, unlike at 13U and up, all of you are scheduled up tothe max and there is very little room for make-ups. If a game (or aDH) is pp'd. due to weather and can't be made up because neither teamis available, it merely goes as unplayed games. No penalty but nopoints in the standings either. Remember, a loss is worth 1 point, awin =2 and an unplayed game = 0 points. Forfeit wins are a differentstory, hey are worth 2 points. And if you agree to anon-weather-related pp'd, you are on the hook i.e., if the gamedoesn't get played, regardless of reason, you get 0 points. If you need to discuss any schedule matters with me, please contactme by phone or email before Sunday. I will try to get any changesmade by Sunday night (I'm hoping there are few or none!). Mondaymorning look again, in case any changes were made that result in newproblems. The schedule becomes final Monday at noon.Enjoy!ed
