Compensatory Credits For RFA Losses
Including Carry-Overs

The ENYTB Members' Council and Executive Board have modified the formula for awarding compensatory RFA credits to teams that sustain RFA losses.

Effective immediately, compensatory credits shall be awarded as follows:

(1) RFA Losses = 0 or 1 Compensation = None
(2) RFA Losses = 2 Compensation = 1
(3) RFA Losses = 3 Compensation = 2

Unused compensatory credits are the only RFA credits carried over from one year to the next. This is because any team can lose active RFAs off their roster right up to the RFA deadline date (not to mention inactive RFAs which can leave at any time). So a team might qualify for compensatory credits with no ability to use them on active players in the current period. By carrying them forward, they will be preserved for use in the next year.
=====================================================================
Reminder: The "Base" CAP1 RFA credit is still subject to a three year look-back limit on added RFAs:
...............................................................
For a team to qualify for a base CAP1 RFA credit in year T:

Total CAP1 Credits Used In (t-1) +
Total CAP1 Credits Used In (t-2) +
Total CAP1 Credits Used In (t-3) < 5

................................................................
Example:
2012 team A adds 3 RFA
2013 team A adds 2 RFA
2014 CAP1 base credit = 0 because RFA sum in prior two years reached 5
