FALL BALL SIGN-UP - 2013To: All ENYTB Members As Well As Non-ENYTB Members:Everything you need to know to hook your fall team up with the premier travel baseball league in eastern, upstate New York is provided below. *********************************************************** ENYTB FALL BALL REGISTRATION 2013 ***********************************************************ENYTB had a record number of fall teams (90) in 2012. This total included teams from as far away as Syracuse, NY, western MA, Vermont and Kingston. Our core area is the Capital District Region, centered in Latham, NY. We welcome non-ENYTB members as well as ENYTB spring/summer members. NOTE: ROSTERS - Players can choose to play for any team they wish in the fall i.e., club rights from spring/summer have no effect on fall ball. REGISTRATION PERIODThe website will open for fall ball activations on Wednesday the 21st. (I need a break too. :D) Registration will close on Saturday, AUG 31. That is only 10 days to get yourself registered so don't delay. LENGTH OF SEASONStart Date - your choice (NOT before SEP 7)End Date - your choice (NOT after OCT 27).MAX # Games - your choiceNOTE: The schedule for the first weekend will be released by TUES, SEP 3. The rest of the fall schedule will be released on Monday, SEP 9.FEESFee: $175/team.Security deposit: $225/clubNOTE: Payable no later than Saturday, AUG 31.FULLY CUSTOMIZED SCHEDULINGTeams may specify how many games they want to play each weekend and in what pattern. For example:(1) SAT Only...(2) SUN Only...(3) SAT or SUN (not both days)...(4) SAT and SUN (3 or more games).Teams also may prioritize the following playing preferences:(1) Single Game...(2) DH...(3) Single Game - 9 Innings. For example, if your 1st preference is SG and your 2nd preference is 9 INN SG and you don't want any DH no matter what i.e., you'd rather not play than play a DH, your selection order would be: 1+3.On the other hand, if your 1st preference is DH and prefer to play a SG rather than not at all, but would prefer 9 INN if you did, your selection order would be 2+3+1.COMPETITIVELY BALANCED SCHEDULINGNOTE: AS BEST AS POSSIBLE GIVEN NUMBER OF TEAMS THAT QUALIFY AS ELIGIBLE OPPONENTS FOR YOUR TEAM.Strength of Schedule will based on your team's SOS rating and its preference. There are 9 ratings:Gold: 1 (highest), 2, 3HiSilver: 4, 5, 6LoSilver: 7, 8, 9 Teams will select a representative rating 1-9. They also will indicate whether they wish a strong, normal or weak schedule for that rating."NO PLAY" PREFERENCESTeams may block out as necessary:(1) Individual dates....(2) Times on individual dates (or pattern) ....(3) Particular Opponents (max = 2)LONG DISTANCE TRAVELLOCAL TEAMS - All long distance travel is optional for local teams.Local teams can select a number from 0 to 3 for how many times they wish to travel long distance (60 to 100 miles) during the season. NON-LOCAL TEAMS: No guarantee of 50-50 home schedule. Home schedule depends on long distance travel preferences of eligible opponents.NOTE: This is necessary for fall ball because our local teams are not as interested in long distance play for fall ball.HOME FIELDSIt is NOT necessary to have your own homefield but it is desirable for a better schedule e.g., teams w/o home fields can't play each other. Far better to have a few home dates than none.NOTE: No surcharge during fall ball for teams w/o a homefield.MISCELLANEOUSTeam age is based on player's baseball age for next summer season.Fall teams often include players from a range of ages e.g., 13-15 or 15-18. In such cases, the team rating would be dependent on the player age distribution as well as their ability level e.g., a 14U team with 5 high quality 15s likely would be a Gold rated 14+ team or perhaps a HS rated 15- team. PITCHING RESTRICTIONS ON OLDER AGED PLAYERS(1) No 11 or 12 yo player is allowed to pitch against a 9U or 10U team on a 65' diamond (46 or 48' pitching distance).(2) No 13yo or older player is allowed to pitch against an 11u or 12u team on a 70' diamond (48' or 50' pitching distance).(3) At 13u to 16U, no player more than 1 year older than his opponents' team age is allowed to pitch e.g., a 16 yo player can't pitch against a 14u team but a 15yo could.LEAGUE PLAYING RULESSame as ENYTB Regular Season Rules, which vary by age division. (Posted on the website (MUST READ)).BAT RULES (same as ENYTB regular season)a - Wood Bats at Age 15U and older!b - BBCOR -3MAX at 14Uc - BPF = 1.15 and -6MAX at 13Ud - 2 5/8" = max barrel diameter MIXED AGE OPPONENTS: When a 14u team plays a 15u team, the 14u team uses the 14u bat rules and the 15u team uses the 15u bat rules.***********Sound good to you? Activate your team or teams for the fall season with a single phone call to Ed Frye at 518-356-9089. This will get your team on the website, create an online baseball office for your club and teams, as well as provide all of your team people (and players as soon as you add them to your online roster) with personal passwords granting them premium online access. And, best of all, it will get your team a fall baseball schedule customized to the preferences you provided.
