posted by Administrator 07/01/2013 11:07:05
OPEN Tournament Sign-Up - LAST MAN STANDING - All AgesENYTB is offering its Last Man Standing tournaments to all teams, including non-members and at all ages, during the latter part of July. These tournaments are listed on the Master Tournament Schedule Board (first item on Tournament menu). This a for fun, end-of-the season tournament, for low silver teams as well as high silver teams that were eligible for sanctioned tournament berths but do not win any. High Silver not eligible for sanctioned berths are eligible for the LMS if and only if their season record is .500 or lower.Twenty or more ENYTB teams signed up for and paid for entry to the LMS back in April when they registered with ENYTB. (Current team registrations are viewable on each tournament's homepage.) However, we still have openings at all age levels and have extended sign-ups for another 10 days or so.Price: $175As you can see by the price and prizes, this tournament is priced at a cost break-even for the benefit of our members and anyone else that qualifies to participate and wishes to do so.FORMAT: Usually a 4 game guarantee (round-robin or pool play followed by SE championship. Intensive play from Friday-Sunday. Possibility of play on Thursday and Monday.PRIZES:a)Really Nice Team Trophies for 1st and 2nd placeb)Individual Player Awards for all players on both Finalist teams - new ENYTB coin/medal designed specifically for LMS with ENYTB logo on back.Tournaments provide all game balls.Teams pay one ump for each game played. To Sign-Up:(1) Notify me by email (fryes@nycap.rr.com) and follow with check; or,(2) Sign-up yourself online. Simply click the tournament name on the Tournament Board then click on the ruby red registration button and make appropriate selections. Follow-up by sending check.I also can be reached by phone at 518-356-9089 and 518-542-8498.We need to find hosts for these tournaments (if you would like to host games on your home field(s) let me know). Great opportunity for some end-of-season fund-raising via concessions etc.NOTE: Early games could be played at the various fields of the participants if necessary but it would be better to have one or two fields for each tournament.Once we have 6 teams in a division we may close it down, though we will maintain a waiting list for paid entries. Also, if at the end of 10 days, we decide there's not enough entries at a given age division, we will cancel the tournament for that age division and give full refunds. LASTLY: Entries are NOT limited to ENYTB teams nor are ENYTB teams limited to the players on their ENYTB regular season rosters. You can add players as you wish. Teams can combine forces etc. In fact, you can have players of as many as three ages on the same team but your team must be entered at whatever age we feel it will be competitive. For example, a team could have a few 12s and a few 14s but mostly 13sand still qualify as a 13u team, provided its overall team strength is appropriate to the 13 level, as defined above. The goal of this tournament is for the players to have fun. For that to be the case, the competition needs to be as balanced as possible. We want the kids to walk away from this tournament feeling good about it and to be encouraged to continue playing baseball. This tournament is NOT for high calibre teams.Paperwork - Non-ENYTB members required to submit proof of insurance with ENYTB listed as additional insured. Roster (can be emailed) must include manager's name and contact info as well as name of players and for non-ENYTB players, evidence of DOB.
