To ALL Fall Ball teams:Yes, there will be an ENYTB fall ball program this year and after a two year absence, I will be back running it. It will be cheap and economical and it will feature an all-new LOCAL PLAY ONLY option.You do NOT have to be an ENYTB member to participate in the ENYTB fall-ball program. Fees are the same for members and non-members alike ($50/team) and this fee is waived for early bird sign-ups at 9U-12U who are NOT ENYTB members (details below).NOTE: There has been a groundswell of interest in fall ball this year by our younger teams (9U-12U). Some of this is due to the fact that more and more younger aged teams prefer playing on the 65' and 70' fields with real leading/stealing. Part of is also due to increasing familiarity with the ENYTB structure of classified competition and customized play. The more teams that sign-up early in these younger age divisions the more likely it is that we will have a wide diversity of teams available for scheduling. So if your team is 9U to 12U and you are interested in fall ball - don't delay in contacting me and getting your team signed up. In fact, to encourage interest by non-ENYTB teams, we will waive the $50 registration fee for any non-ENYTB team that signs up before August 1st!Also, we are willing to create a separate division for non-ENYTB teams with 60' fields. Those teams may elect to play their road games on a mix of fields or on 60' fields only.OLDER Ages - The last several years we have had 40 to 50 teams at 13U and up sign up for our fall ball program.*********************************************************2008 ENYTB Fall Ball Program - Fact Sheet*********************************************************FEE: $50/team.REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT: $200 - teams that cancel games will be charged $50 per cancellation, deductible from this deposit (excluding weather postponements). This deposit also will be used to insure against umpire fee defaults on no-shows. When your deposit is burned up you must replenish to continue playing. It is hoped that by providing teams a financial incentive to be reliable in playing their schedule, we will minimize cancellations. PAPERWORK: None - but you must have at least 12 registered players on your roster to start the season and you must show proof of team insurance. Team insurance from the summer is usually still good as long as the team name is the same and at least half of the original roster is still on the team.TOURNAMENTS: None - although if anyone wants to host a GOLD level COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND tournament AT A PREMIUM FACILITY featuring 50% local teams and 50% outside teams, I would help with that effort. Also, our sponsor, Extra Innings would be interested in supporting such an effort. The key would be attracting outside interest. Teams are locking in tournaments for that weekend already so if anyones likes this idea, we would have to get started soon.Play will be limited to weekends only. Teams may elect to play SAT, SUN or BOTH. TEAMS may elect to play SG, DH or a mix (3 games) and they may vary that by weekend. Teams may block out entire weekends and begin/end when they wish. Teams will be grouped according to age and ability level, to the extent possible. We do allow teams to play in an adjacent age division if the match-up is believed to be competitive.NEW IN 2008 - LIMITED TRAVEL OPTION (Local Play Only): Teams may elect to play locally only. Teams from the outskirts of our franchise area may come here and play such teams, but teams selecting this option will not be scheduled farther than about 30 mins travel time.Play can begin on Labor Day Weekend (usually teams wait til the following weekend to begin play) or any time thereafter.Scheduling preference will be given to teams that have a home field available. Times of games will be dictated by field availability. Teams that have fields available all day, can indicate time preference for home games. Other teams can block out early or late if absolutely necessary. The more you restrict your team's availability on a given day, the less likely it is we can find you a suitable match-up.
